Elena Ortega is a self trained artist mostly known for her photorealistic style and a great passion for vibrant colors. In her home studio in the beautiful Southern Appalachian Mountains she creates portraits, murals, trompe l’oeil, faux woodgrain, faux marble and decorative finishes. Her work goes beyond canvas, to other mediums and materials, including natural wood, walls, and furniture, employing different techniques in acrylics, oils and plaster.
Her background as an Architect allows her to understand perspective, color and form, clearly visualizing the ideas and requests from the clients turning them into a creation of Art. Often collaborating with other Architects, Interior Designers and Contractors, as well as with private homeowners, she creates unique spaces that capture the client’s aspirations, who frequently request her to match existing surfaces and finishes fulfilling their needs beyond their expectations.
